Constantly feeling overwhelmed and anxious? Then you're at the right place.
A hectic and busy lifestyle calls for some grounding. A routine can do just that. One of the benefits of a routine is that routines provide our body with a rhythm which creates a sense of safety and security. Sounds good? Well, today we talk about the benefits of a routine and how to actually build one.
Why are Routines Important?
Routines provide our body with a rhythm which creates a sense of safety and security.
Our body will know what comes next and we will therefore feel more in control of our lives overall.
Routines also help us get better sleep and have a better start to our day.
Routines help us transition in and out of activities throughout our day
What makes a Routine?
Can be any combination of 3 tasks you engage in on a consistent basis
The best routines use the senses and are aimed at meeting basic needs
Ex: drinking water, stretching, washing your face, etc.
Kinds of Routines:
Morning routine
Night time routine
Weekday Routine
Weekend Routine
Your Routines can, and should, change over time. We can risk our lives feeling monotonous if we maintain the same habits over long periods of time so don’t be afraid to switch things. The point is to create a rhythm for your day, so also allow yourself to have more of a guideline if that fits you better. Stick to the three things rule & choose any that feel best for you!
